St. Vincent De Paul

The St. Vincent De Paul group at St. Francis of Assisi was inaugurated on 5th of March 1975. The group is still very active today and meets each Monday evening at 7pm in the creche. The group supports those with financial and personal difficulties, whilst visiting the elderly and sick and arranging for them to attend Mass on Sundays. They also visit Inverclyde Hospital and are involved in Diocesan projects working with the homeless and those with addictions.

 

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary meet each Wednesday in the creche after the 9.30am Mass to pray the Legion Prayers, the Rosary and to discuss their handbook. They also discuss their pastoral work which includes visiting the sick and elderly in their homes and in hospital. They also visit Saint Francis primary to pray the Rosary each week.

 

Divine Mercy

The Divine Mercy group meets on Mondays after morning Mass.

 

Knights of St Columba

Council 350 (Port Glasgow) of the KSC meet on the second Tuesday of every month in the lounge at 7:30pm. The meeting opens with the Rosary. Any Catholic gentleman considering joining the KSC is welcome to attend the meeting.

 

Prayer Groups

The Padre Pio group meets on Mondays from 3.00pm in the creche..

 

Social Activities

Bingo: Tuesdays from 8.30pm and Sundays from 8.30pm

Arts & Crafts: Thursdays from 7.30pm-9.30pm

Lunch club and Bingo: Thursday 1pm until 3pm. (October - April)

Quiz Nights: Last Friday of the month at 7:30pm (excluding July & December)

 

Funeral Breakfasts

The Funeral Breakfast group prepare and serve the funeral breakfasts in the parish at very competitive prices.

 

Cleaners Group

The Cleaners Group clean the Church each alternate Tuesday after the 9.30am Mass.
